Laury Golliet and Mélanie Taleb won a national prize for the creation of their outfit collection.

For the official ceremony of « Talents des Cités » awards, on November 19, Gilles Vermot Desroches, Sustainable Development and Schneider Electric Foundation Senior Vice President, awarded one of the national prize in the « Creation » category to Laury Golliet and Mélanie Taleb, for their enterprise Lamda, a dress designing office and its urban outfit collection, situated in Grenoble’s suburbs, in France. Schneider Electric sponsored Lamda for the event.

Laury Golliet, 25, was about to end her designing studies when she thought about creating her own ready-to-wear outfit collection. Starting with this idea, two different ranges were designed: « Lamda prime » (unique hand-made designs) and « urbancouture » (mass-produced clothes from the first collection)
Laurie Golliet, and her associate Mélanie Taleb, are sharing every task within their company: creation, designing and commercial management.
The two partners are expecting to create jobs using the helps they are given. And they wish to develop their activites with the resources they get. They became a stong actor in their suburb’s life. These two designers are now organizing events for and with the inhabitants of La Villeneuve (contest, exhibition…)
With its first edition in 2002, « Talents des Cités » is a contest which aim is to help promote enterprises and associations creation and development in the priority urban areas (ZUP : Zone Urbaine Prioritaire) designated by a town’s policy.

« Every year since the creation of this initiative, Schneider Electric is sponsoring and following one of the award-winner that is usually located close to our sites and/or our activities » explains Gilles Vermot Desroches.
« Our entreprise’s commitment shows a profound engagement and strengthens when it is possible a tight link. For us, it is a real push to give confidence and dynamism to the suburban population to enhance jobs and enterprises’ creations. »

With this particular initiative, and in co-ordination with other sponsorships, Schneider Electric wants to give a boost to all the young adults living in the suburbs.
