          A contract signed with the major Finnish paper-maker, United Paper Mills

                              
                              

          A contract promptly undertaken: 15 days were sufficient to convince the Finnish paper-maker, United Paper Mills to entrust Schneider Electric with the job. The order includes the delivery of 6 MCSet cubicles for the extension of the paper-maker plant, Chapelle Darblay, situated next to Rouen, in France. The final receipt is scheduled for March 2006.

          Schneider Electric rapidly proposed a competitive offer with innovative technical solutions, such as thermal diagnosis.

          With this system, the temperature is constantly watched in critical places of the Medium Voltage panels. It guarantees the good state of the material and prevents against any risk for the operator or for the material in case the temperature should rise abnormally. Moreover, the system greatly reduces the maintenance’s costs. 
          Upon the actual crisis settled in the Finnish paper industry, this contract fits in with Schneider Electric Finland’s will of developing electrical distribution into the Finnish industry market and of getting closer to major paper-makers such as United Paper Mills.

          This first successful reference allows Schneider Electric to take other major positions in future projects in Finland and throughout the world.

          Chapelle Darblay paper mill, specialized in the making of recycled news print, produces 340 000 tonnes of paper annually. It is the biggest United Paper Mills french plant out of the three situated in the country. Chapelle Darblay is located near Rouen, a major port for wood and paper product, a strategic situation which guarantees a rapid access to the main European capitals and the Atlantic coast.
