Schneider Electric allows lots of French municipalities to reduce energy costs

Schneider Electric delivered to Saint-Jacques de Rennes airport in France a Lubio regulating system for the airport’s roads and parking lots, which aim is to realize energy cost savings. This installation is a successful reference to propose Lubio for further projects in other airports or municipalities.
Product created for the exterior public and private lighting, the Lubio line form Merlin Gerin allows to diminish the electrical consumption, and realizes 30% of energy cost savings.

Lots of French municipalities have already adopted the product, which received last November the 2005 Innovation Trophy, in the urban development category, at the « salon des maires et des collectivités locales », in Paris, France.

If Lubio were to be endorsed by the overall public lighting system in the world, CO2 emission could be reduced by 42 millions of tonnes annually.

          > Lubio, How does it work ?
          -
It includes a tension regulator, associated with an astronomical clock. They reduce the lights’ intensity, and therefore increase their lifetime.
          - Lubio provides the adjustment and the variation of the tension ; the management of the on and off of the lighting.
          - The software keeps track of the datas, it measures and supervizes all that is done on the lighting system it supplies.
          - The software features a calculating simulator which can gives the economies amount that will be performed.
          - A second generation is being developped : Lubio Communicant, which transmits information from a distance with a supervision system, using the Modbus communication protocol.
