An innovative solution prescribed for energy conservation

Schneider Electric India has successfully installed India’s first GSM based control system for controlling streetlights in Delhi.

This contract, signed with North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL)*, includes the installation of 22 units, the first lot for 2 model zones.

The solution deployed will not only manage the switching on-and-off time of the streetlights throughout the North and North West of Delhi from a central control station or from mobile handset over a GSM network, but will also offer a complete system diagnostics, security and energy consumption. The system is also able to send SMS to maintenance staff on event of fault.

The entire 90 000 light fixtures controlled by NDPL and until then operated manually are intended to be replaced with this solution.

Schneider Electric India proved its leadership in providing innovative and futuristic solutions for Indian customers and building foundation for a changing market with induction of new technologies. Schneider Electric reinforced its image of a World Class Solution Provider.
