Metz and Strasbourg agencies commited to the environment

Metz and Strasbourg commercial agencies (North East of France) recently received their ISO 14001 certification*. This program will be pursued in all agencies in France.

«When you come to think about an environmental certification, the issue is not only about industrial waste!» explains Gilles Simon, project manager for the sites certification.

Tertiary sites are also important natural resources consumers. They use energy, water, oil... «We need to manage environmental issues as a whole. And, with the help of our energy efficiency strategy, we need to reduce energy consumption in our offices.»

After commercial agencies, other tertiary buildings will implement a system to manage environmental impacts.

Schneider Electric’s Environmental commitment: ISO 14001 certifications in progress

Schneider Electric committed itself to deploy an Environmental Management System in all of its industrial and logistic sites. This deployment is in compliance with the international standard ISO 14001.

At the end of 2005, 165 of industrial and logistic sites were registered, as well as 9 commercial, R&D and administrative sites.

As of today, 100% of french industrial and logistic sites are ISO 14001 certified.

Registration effort now targets newly acquired manufacturing units, and some demonstrative examples of commercial and R&D premises.

These actions demonstrate the commitment and dedication of Schneider Electric towards the Planet.
