Schneider Electric UK achieved Energy Efficiency Accreditation
Given by the Carbon Trust*, the prestigious Energy Efficiency Accreditation award recognizes achievements in energy saving, from a results and process point of view. The award demonstrates our commitment to energy saving to our customers, employees and other stakeholders.
The Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme is the UK's only independent award recognizing achievements in reducing energy use by leading organizations in industry, commerce and the public sector.
Accreditation is gained after an independent expert assessor has carried out an audit visit ; the accreditation award is moderated by the Energy Institute. Less than 250 organizations have been accredited since inception in 1993.
In this context, Schneider Electric UK has reduced energy usage by more than 20% since 2004 by investing in its own energy management solutions on its sites and by raising the energy management awareness of employees. Solutions implemented have been wide-ranging; metering, lighting and heating management and control, implementing VSDs on motors, manufacturing process control etc.
*The Carbon Trust is an independent company funded by UK Government. Its role is to help the UK move to a low carbon economy by helping UK business and the public sector to cut carbon emissions and develop commercial low carbon technologies.
