SETBT obtains ISO 14001 certification
SETBT, a unit with 125 employees that designs and builds low voltage panelboards, has obtained ISO 14001 certification. The unit’s equipment offers a high level of safety for users in high power distribution and industrial control. The ISO auditor was particularly impressed by the motivation expressed by team members during their interviews. «We’ve focused on getting each employee personally involved in environmental protection since we started implementing environmental management in our plants,» says Jean-Michel Basset, Schneider Electric country environment manager. «This strategy has proven highly effective in our different Country Organizations around the world.»
At present, two-thirds of Schneider Electric’s sites have obtained ISO 14001 certification. Among the first plants to be certified when the ISO standard was introduced in 1996 were Le Vaudreuil and Libourne in France, Marienheide in Germany, Valencia in Spain, Telford in the UK and Oxford in the US. The pioneering sites are now going through the certification renewal process.
