The first European electrical installation portal is christened Voltimum
The first European electrical installation portal for the promotion of products and services for construction industry professionals, created on October 3, is to be called Voltimum. The name evokes the electrical business and the intention of its founders to provide professionals with the best possible services.
The portal, which was founded by five key players in the construction and electrical installation market : ABB, Legrand, Nexans, Philips Lighting and Schneider Electric, has welcomed a new member : Pirelli Câbles et Systèmes.
The parent company, Voltimum SA, will be based in Geneva as of January 2001 and will be headed up by Bruno Hamon, who is currently Marketing Vice-President of Nexans’ « General Market » Wiring business.
Bruno Hamon, 43, Doctor of Laws, was previously a jurist at Pechiney, then Vice-President Human Resources at Almet (a subsidiary of Pechiney). In 1992, he was appointed Managing Director of a wine packing company in California, before joining Alcatel in 1998, where he held the position of Marketing Vice-President for the « General Market » Wiring business.
