Business segment Automation awarded ISO9001: 2000 certification
The quality system applied by Schneider Automation in its design, production, sales, and additional services activities (After-sales service, training, technical support, expert appraisals) for programmable logic controllers and related systems has been assessed and judged to be in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001-2000 standard. The certification covers activities in the Sophia Antipolis, Carros, and Grenoble sites. The other automation sites, Seligenstadt in Germany and North Andover in the United States, are certified ISO9001-1994 locally.
Schneider Automation was certified ISO9001 in 1989, the 14th French company to receive the certificate.
ISO9001 certification, one of the most widespread Quality standards in the industrial world, has now been revised to a more exacting level from its ISO9001-1994 version, becoming a true quality management standard covering not only product compliance but also customer satisfaction. It deploys a "Process-based" approach that promotes cooperation between the different company functions and defines monitoring indicators, objectives to be defined with commitment from senior management, continuous improvement feedback loops for all processes, and so forth.
ISO9001: 2000 certification is more than just a proof of compliance; it explicitly recognizes the effectiveness of current management processes.
