Mexico, Torre Mayor construction
With an investment of almost 250 million US dollars, the most important building project in Mexico is being developed: Torre Mayor (Mayor Tower). Deadline of this project is Q4 2002. The tallest building in Latin America, the tower will be 225 mts. tall and it will be the most efficient and most competitive world-class building in Mexico.
The Torre Mayor will be the first building in the country that will implement the latest construction techniques such as the “structure energy reducers”, besides including other cutting-edge technologies in the entire proyect. Schneider Electric Mexico participated in this phase right from the very beginning, supplying 23kV substations with SF1 switches, RM6 medium voltage (MV) ring distribution units, Trihal MV dry type transformers, 480V panelboards, low voltage (LV) busway, LV motor control centers, lighting panelboards and LV transformers. The initial contract totaled 2 million american dollars and the opportunity is open for further ordering.
