New contract in Lithuania
In September 2002, Mazeikiu Nafta (MN), Lithuania's petrochemical refinery will be supplied a "shelter" with a complete power substation, delivered assembled and wired, and ready to be connected on-site to handle a new process at the refinery. This includes primary MCset MV equipment, Okken LV equipment and power transformers, all working in concert with our Sepam protection relays.
This contract evidences cooperation with this customer for nearly ten years. Following the stake recently taken by the Russian oil company YUKOS in MN's capital, other major investments are planned for the upcoming years.
This means that there are excellent sales prospects for our young Lithuanian subsidiary, also reinforcing our local image thanks to this prestigious customer.
Since January 2001, there are now three Schneider Electric subsidiaries in the three Baltic Countries - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - operating through the Lexel organization.
