Schneider Electric considers selling its nuclear business to American company Data Systems and Solutions
Schneider Electric is considering selling its nuclear branch to Data Systems and Solutions (a joint venture formed in 1999 between Rolls Royce in the UK and Science Applications International Corporation in the US), which provides integrated information technology based asset management solutions to aviation and nuclear power customers.
The nuclear branch, located in Grenoble, generates sales of around EUR 20 million and employs 200 people.
If the sale were to go ahead, it would :
> Reposition the business and enable it to grow within an international group, which could provide it with access to new markets and a complementary product offering.
> Guarantee current jobs and contracts and the sustainability of the Grenoble organization.
The decision will be made at the end of September after consultation with the relative employee representative authorities.
