Czech Republic a new certification
The Pisek plant has obtained ISO 14001 certification by implementing the environmental management system EMS. The plant, which is located in the Czech Republic, manufactures contactors, overload relays and pushbuttons.
The ISO 14001 standard was developed back in 1996. It defines environmental management objectives and is based on three principles:
> regulatory compliance,
> continuous improvement in environmental performance,
> pollution prevention.
Certification recognises that a company's environmental management system conforms to guidelines, which helps raise public awareness as they are implemented.
In line with the NEW2004 Schneider Electric company program, the Pisek plant had set its own goal of achieving ISO certification by the beginning of 2003 at the latest. This has now been achieved.
