Schneider Electric recognizes the talent of China’s youth, and the key they hold to the future. We are committed to helping them reach their dreams.
Schneider Electric has donated instruments and equipment valued at RMB 12 million to university laboratories in China and set up nine joint labs with local Chinese universities. The company also received 450 undergraduates during the summer internship program and has hired more than 400 fresh graduates through on-campus recruitment.
Since 1998, Schneider Electric has offered scholarships to university students, including those from Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and South China University of Technology. Since 2008, a total of RMB 6 million has been donated to thousands of students to assist their education.
Schneider Electric Youth Development Foundation
Since 2003, Schneider Electric has donated a total of RMB 2 million to the China Youth Foundation through the contribution of its employees. In addition, Schneider Electric has help build up to eight "Project Hope" primary schools, two orphanages and one special needs school. The company plans to set up another three "Project Hope" schools in Hunan and Hubei.
Natural Disaster relief
Sichuan Earthquake
So far, Schneider Electric has made a RMB 1 million cash contribution to China Red Cross and RMB 1 million in equipment to Sichuan Kexing Electricity and Electrics Limited. A further RMB 4 million will go towards supporting Sichuan youth, in education, books for school libraries and rebuilding schools, including RMB 2 million in donations from stuff. The company is helping rebuild Sichuan and extending greater opportunities to the province’s youth.
Snowstorm Relief
In 2008, massive snowstorms struck China’s Hunan and province, destroying human lives and cities. Schneider Electric donated RMB 500,000 worth of equipment in addition to sending a team of power experts to help restore power supply in the snowstorm areas.
