Schneider Electric South Africa renewed for the second time in February 2005 its certification ISO 9001:2000 for a three-year period. Based on international standards, the ISO certificate recognises the quality of work practices in the entity, which is a critical need in the global environnement in which we operate today.
The certificate helps to achieve the stated goals of significantly higher levels of customer satisfaction and financial performance as stated in new²company program.
Schneider Electric South Africa began to work on an ISO listing in 1998.
After the initial audit, they became in March 2001 the first company within the South African electrical engineering sector and the first subsidiary in the Group to receive the ISO 9001:2000 standard, for three years only.
A tri-annual audit was necessary to obtain a second validation of the ISO standard. The contribution of process sponsors and process owners helped to realise the extension of the listing for a further three years.
