R&D Efficiency Leader

1)      Competency Management: collaborate with chapters and leagues to develop and implement a competency ramp-up plan aligned with business needs

a)        Identify competency gaps based on project roadmaps and “Future R&D Ready“ requirements, prioritizing areas for improvement

b)        Develop a "build or buy" strategy to address these gaps through internal development or external partnerships

c)        Track and report progress on competency development initiatives

2)      Process Optimization: partner with Global Process Excellence Leader to provide feedback and proposal on continuously optimizing the processes  

a)        Engage with squad teams to identify process challenges

b)        Support team to implement process simplification initiatives

c)        Ensure continuous feedback loops from squads for the opportunities about refining and adapting processes

3)      Digital Tool Efficiency: improve daily operation efficiency by leveraging digital tools

a)        Collaborate with squads and chapters to identify inefficiencies caused by tools or low-value-added tasks

b)        Propose solutions to reduce these inefficiencies through the integration of digital tools

c)        Work closely with the MVO AI team to develop and implement new AI tools to streamline daily operations and improve daily work efficiency

4)      Change Management: drive change management initiatives within the CN hub to align with business agility and leadership requirements

a)        Facilitate the deployment of Agile methodologies (OLM) in collaboration with Agile Excellence chapter

b)        Coordinate with local chapters / squads for the deployment of other new processes which are embedded in OLM

c)        Facilitate lab mindset transformation through some organizational change efforts

Reporting Line:

R&D Efficiency Leader directly reports to MV China R&D VP

1)      Bachelor’s degree in engineering is must; advanced degrees or certifications in areas such as Project Management, Process Improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus

2)      Min. 5 years of experience in R&D, project management or process improvement roles; Proven track record of leading cross functional projects

3)      Experience working with Agile methodologies and managing change within the organization

4)      Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex problem, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions

5)      Solid understanding of key challenges from project execution and agile principle/value, demonstrate agility during process diagnosis and proposals

6)      Familiarity with AI and digital tool integration to enhance business processes is highly desirable; Proficiency in digital tools and platforms used for R&D, project management and data analysis

7)      Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, team collaboration, adaptability and strong logical thinking are required
