German grid operator EAM Netz is leveraging innovative technology to advance the region’s energy transition. The long-time partner collaborated with Schneider Electric to decarbonize its power network by replacing aging switchgear with GM AirSeT, a more sustainable, SF₆-free MV powered by air and digital.
EAM Netz is committed to building a more sustainable future for its community. To do so, the electrical distribution operator needed an MV technology solution that addressed its major challenges: decarbonizing its energy network and increasing renewable energy integration, improving sustainability, and furthering the energy transition. It must also comply with the EU’s F-gas regulation and deliver reliable performance to maximize uptime.
EAM Netz and Schneider Electric collaborated closely on this project, which successfully integrated GM AirSeT into EAM Netz’s Dörnhagen substation. The SF₆-free MV switchgear advances the network operator’s sustainability goals and provided experience of AirSeT technology ahead of the F-gas regulation deadline on January 1, 2026.
